Trivet Headband Tutorial

I love this kid. She melts my heart. And I love making things for her. It's like putting the icing on the cake, it's like putting the ribbon on the package, it's like one of my favorite things in the whole world. Who wouldn't want to play dress up with something so wonderful? (And I know that is how all you moms and grandma's feel about your little ones...I think that is why we all craft.) Anyways, currently this is a project that I love to make. It's easy and fun and little girls look adorable in headbands. So if you want, here's how you can make some just like this:
Here are the supplies:

*Woven Trivets (purchased at Dollar Tree)

*Headbands (purchased at Dollar Tree)

*Scraps of quilted fabric (I save EVERTHING...I'm a bit of a hoarder...so this is a sack of quilted fabric scraps I have left over from some baby shoes that I made. But you don't need to use quilted scraps for this project. I'm sure that any scrap fabric would work just fine.)

The first thing I do is cut out my scraps in the shapes I want and arrange them on the trivet. Then I match the trivet to the headband.

Next I stitch around the edges of all my shapes with random colored thread. You don't really NEED to do this but I just LIKE to do this because, well, it just makes the shapes more fun.

And finally I pull out the glue gun. I glue my shapes and any buttons, ribbons, or bling I'm going to add onto the trivet. Then I glue the trivet itself onto the headband.
And you're done! Now you have something to wear on a chilly, windy day to keep your hair out of your face... ...or pair it with a favorite dress to make your outfit extra fabulous. PS---I really am addicted to making these for Gracie---and now I have a new kind of trivet-made headband for Gracie. It's a little out of control...but I loVe it...and I'll show it to you soon.
