I found this Land's End junior's shirt on my last thrifting trip for $2. I loved the Peter Pan collar (I am kind of a sucker for anything with a peter pan collar) and decided it would be a good school dress for the newest First Grader around this house.
I thought when I first bought it that I would have to take in the sides...but it worked perfectly as a bigger shirt dress. All I really did to it was add some belt loops for a ribbon belt, and chop off the sleeves and put in an elastic casing.
And now we're ready for First Grade. (Well I shouldn't say we're....she's ready. But mom. Not so much.)

that is adorable! she is a cutie:)

What a great idea. I like that you made the sleeves short, and you can change the ribbon color for the belt!
