$5 Friday...DIY Girls Knit Cardigan Vest

Recently I posted a tutorial on how to make a knit cardigan vest for only $1. But the day I made that vest I realized that it would work just as well for little girls as it would for adults. (And maybe even better.) So I made some for Grace but instead of adding a belt like I did on mine I gave her a giant sash (which can be made from long strip of fabric cut from an over sized t-shirt).
Grace loved the sash--she loves all things pink--plus a sash equals pirates in her mind and she is still in love with all things piratical.
And then of course I loved the knit with the vest and the sash because it reminded me of some clothes I was crazy about in elementary school---UNITS!!! (Anyone remember those clothes?) Dude, I lOVED those clothes. In fact I've been secretly planning for months now some units outfits for Grace to wear this winter.

And yes, I'm being serious.
LONG LIVE UNITS!!!!
