$5 Friday-- Vintage Pillowcases Backpack Tutorial

When I am out at the thrift store, I can't resist a vintage pillowcase.  And that's the problem.....I now have a lot of them.  So, I decided it was time to do something about my vintage pillowcase pile. (And I still have a quite a few more if you have any good suggestions....)

Today's project is a simple one to do if you happen to have a pile of vintage pillowcases too.  Or you could even sneak some newer ones out of the linen closet ; )

At first I was going to make some drawstring bags out of them (which I think I still might) but then decided on a little overnight backpack that you could pack jammies and a toothbrush for an overnight at grandmas.

If you want to make one too, here is what you need:

And here's what you need to do to make it:

Do Step 2 on both pillowcases.  Then put one pillowcase inside the other one, with WRONG sides together, right sides facing out.

HERE is a good tutorial to make bias tape if you need one.
