Yesterday I finally got around to sewing one of the first vintage patterns I ever purchased. It is a Simplicity pattern #6039 and was printed in 1965. I bought it a thrift store a few years ago for a quarter.
Making faces---check.
Sneaking around---check.
Balancing on one foot---check.
Twirling---check.
I guess the cover wasn't lying (all though in Grace's case it would be more precise to say it was suitable for silliness). And it was easy to cut and sew! (I just love it when a product delivers.)
Thank you 1960's Simplicity for making my Thrifted Thursday a good one.

too cute!
ReplyDeleteAs a child I had multiple versions of this top with either a pair of matching shorts or a matching skirt. In every possible fabric ranging from a very memorable cream denim with primary color letters all over it.
ReplyDeleteSo cute...the model and the top! I hope you get feeling better.
ReplyDeleteVery cute girl and top. :) PS feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI love this top! And it will be perfect for summer!

PS--Are you ready for class tonight? Not even close over here. ARGHHHH!
I love hitting the secondhand shops for patterns. I found a 50p pattern, printed 1975, for my little one! A jumpsuit, I love it, flares and all. I did her a cream version and she looks a bit like Elvis!
