Maybe "ultimate sadness" is a little dramatic. Perhaps.
But this is a pretty bad craft fail.
Back in the winter when Elizabeth and I were taking that pattern drafting course I got on this kick where I wanted to make all these knit, Units style pieces for Grace. And for the most part I really like how they turned out.
But then I got too confident...and ended up with this dress.
Kooky, shapeless, sad.
It was supposed to be a simple dress with dolman like sleeves...but then I decided to use some of this AWESOME, vintage, rainbow knit that I've been hoarding for over a year now.
And then I got this brilliant idea to do the little chevron point down the front.
(I'll spare you the details of me crawling around the floor at 10 at night on the classroom floor in a caffeine induced stupor arguing with Elizabeth on how to make that happen.)
So after mad hacking...and my absolute refusal to make a real pattern this is what I ended up with.
AGHHHH!!!!! I ruined all that sweet fabric on this...ON THIS!!!!
It's a tragedy. All that vintage goodness cut down in it's prime.
Shame on me.
It's a total disaster.
Dang it. I hate to waste anything vintage.
Maybe Grace can use it for a night gown.
What do you think? Any ideas on how to salvage this fabric?
