This outfit is actually the favorite in the bunch. It has already been worn to school with a report that she and her friends loved her heart shirt...so I need to wash it quick so she can wear it tomorrow. (Girls at 7 love hearts, but I think I am 7 too...because I think it was my favorite spur-of-the-moment piece too.)
I knew from the beginning that I wanted a cropped shirt. You see there was this cropped white shirt in a "Gidget" movie that I have been dreaming about and wanted to make. I didn't get a picture of the shirt alone, but it is a boat neck raglan sleeve easy shirt. But, when I finished I knew the shirt needed a detail. And so "the ginormica heart" found it's place.
The cardigan is Hey Jude's Greenpoint Cardigan (made my the famous Crafterhours) that I LOVE! It was a great easy and fast project. I ended up not adding the buttons because I liked the look and feel of a boyfriend cardigan with the outfit....and it will work so well for so many Fall and Winter layering days. ( I really can't recommend the pattern more---even for a beginner---it will make you like knit!)
The skinny jeans, well they are still in a drafting stage. This was a third draft of the pattern I made and I still feel like they are a work in progress. The yoke for me is still a bit too long and the denim thread that I bought---MY MACHINE HATEDDDD! I am sure the pattern will get worked on some more....next week maybe. But I kind of got bit by a jeans-making bug.
Any fun weekend sewing going at your house? I am now working on a few boys things for Fall.
