I had to run into DI the other night to get a trophy for my husband's work. He got the exciting job of staying with three kids in the car, that lucky duck. And because I was passing the aisle, I just had to check the pattern section....I just had to. (As he immediately says, "what in the world took you so long?" when I get back in the car.) Umm. Patterns? And this is what I found. 4 1960's children's patterns. (My older 2 kids are obsessed with the Brady Bunch right now which we watch during ... View the Post

If You Need a Good Laugh
I've just been laughing so hard I woke up my kids. I am tired but instead of going to bed like a normal person I'm out googling random stuff which tonight, led me to this little gem: http://www.craftfail.com/ I can't stop laughing. And I can't decide which failed crafting attempt is my favorite...the 3-D fabric star for Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, the woman who tole painted and bedazzled her tennis shoes, the sad case of the cupcake liner garland or the "hairless Chewbacca pancake". I wanted a vintagey feel so I made a simple shift dress and added a strip of vintage 1950's lace that I found at a garage sale this summer to the collar. I love the simplicity of it. ... A big one. Oh, I still love them but I needed to spice this one up a little to go with the dress so it was into the scrap bin I went.1 scrap piece of mustard silk sewn into a shabby flower and then sandwiched between my cardigan and broach is just what I needed to finish off my outfit.A ...
