I have a girlie who has outgrown much of her summer wardrobe. We actually went shopping a few weeks ago to find some staples, as in shorts and a few shirts, but came home mostly empty-handed….because either the waists fit and they were too shorty-mc-shorty or the length fit but she cant keep them up.
Soooo….I guess that means I need to get busy and sew up a few things for summer.
This dress I actually sewed up a couple of months ago, and found again when unpacking summer things. So, we have one summer dress! (It’s a start….)
I do know that it was a vintage pattern but I am not finding it at the moment (sorry, I will keep looking as I unpack the sewing room) but I need to find it because it fits like a glove. I want to make a couple more like it.
The dress itself was a simple bodice with a closure that is an invisible side zipper that is put in under the armhole. Then the skirt itself is a basic circle skirt but it was cut into 6 pieces to match the darts (I love how vintage patterns have everything match perfectly—-it makes my Virgo heart happy ;))
One summer dress down and a couple more to go….but next on the list are some skirts and shorts!
