When our good friend Kimbo asked us recently if we wanted to participate in an Expressions Vinyl Palooza….we of course said yes. Mostly because we adore Kimbo and everything she does. (We are working on one more project with her this summer that we are over the moon about–more details to come soon). And secondly, I haven’t had my Silhouette out of the box in a long while, and I completely forgot how easy it is to LABEL EVERYTHING!
And when I mean that I love a good label, I really do love a good labeling system. Here’s a perfect example, one of the first birthdays after we were married and had bought our first house I asked for a dynamo labeler as a birthday gift (no joke). I think it’s the school teacher in me that loves to have everything labeled and in its place. So, this week I have been labeling EVERYTHING! Toy bins, pencil boxes, you-name-it, it’s been labeled.
But I did happen to sneak in a little piece of artwork too…that is much more fun than seeing my labels on everything 😉 Years ago at a craft show I had seen a sign that said “You’re my favorite work of art” and I have always wanted to re-create it. I wish I could remember the craft booth it came from because I’d love to give proper credit….but it’s stuck with me for artwork for some time. And so this project was the perfect opportunity to make it—but in a clean, simple design that is much more my style.
The frame is a matted 8 by 10 (or thereabouts…they have metric system frames) and the inside is Expressions Vinyl’s Mirrored Gold on a piece of white cardstock. Super quick and super easy but I love the way it turned out. I made this one for the family room, but I think it would be equally as darling in a nursery or kid’s room.
Fortunately we also had the chance to meet with Expressions Vinyl and Kimbo (and have a super late night fabric cutting session with lots of laughs) at SNAP and she was kind enough to make us some water bottles because she is amazingly nice like that. And boy do they make my labeling-heart happy 😉
