A while back our good friend Kimbo from over at A Girl and A Glue Gun ask us if we would like to be involved with her Project Linus extravaganza for Luke's Loves. And of course we said YES!!! (This kind of thing is right up our alley!!!) So, we made a Dr. Who quilt for a patient who is in his or her tween or teenage years. (Because they like blankets to!) I'm sure that many of you are familiar with Project Linus but in case you are wondering about what Luke's Loves is all about here ... View the Post
Hexagon Pumpkin Tea Towel Tutorial
I have been all about hexagons and EPP (English Paper Piecing) lately because I can sew for a few minutes and still feel like I accomplished something. I even have a bag packed for the car pool lane that I can pull out and stitch a few hexies together or even glue a few fabric hexies and feel like I am still getting some sewing in. We think they will be great for holiday gifts! We had one person cutting, kids taking turns sewing, and then the littlest and I were the rice-fillers...and it was a fun project. Here is what you need if you want to make some too: ... View the Post
Quilts are for loving…
The very first quilt I made was like a prized possession. I wouldn't let anyone touch it, and it sat on the back of a chair in the living room (that no one really went it) for a couple of months. I was so proud of that awkward quilt and I was going to save that thing for time and eternity, new and pristine. But a funny thing happened over time.....when someone in the family would get chilly while watching tv, someone else would go and get "the quilt", and I realized over time...that the new ...
