Auld Lang Syne…..

Did you have a wonderful Christmas holiday?  My goal this year was to fill it with family, friends and faith....and except for a few bumps in the road {like the sickies} I think it was overall a wonderful success.  We hope yours was too.And although we are taking the next couple of days off to be filled with things like hot cocoa, sledding and game-playing....we do have some thrilling and exciting things planned for 2014.We are going to start it off with a bang and host a "What I wish I knew ... DIY Gold Frames (that kids of all ages like to make)

Today we are sharing a project that I've been making with kids of all ages for years.  It began as an art project for my students but have found that it is just as fun to make and give as gifts...especially to grandparents! It all started when I was teaching art history and I wanted a project that was fun and different to go along with our study of the Baroque period.  I'll spare you the art lesson but suffice it to say that during that time period in art everything was ornamented and ... Holiday Looks for My Girls for Less than $10

And then the fabric for the ... View the Post

(And watch over on Facebook today for us to announce the winner of our quilt giveaway!) Hi everyone!  I am Elizabeth, one half of the duo of sisters-in-law who blog at Simple Simon and Company.  And if there is one thing that we love at Simple Simon, it's a great simple sewing project that can be done in an afternoon.  With that being said, ... Easy Holiday Ear Warmers

Recently while fabric shopping at Joann Fabric and Crafts, I spied ear warmers and gloves in their dollar bins.  I thought that they would make some great last-minute holiday gifts for some girls on our list so I grabbed quite a few sets.  I then ran over to grab some wool felt and pompoms and I knew we had all the supplies for a perfect afternoon of crafting. And then Hannie saw them and thought that they would make perfect gifts for her friends.  So, last week, we spent some time after ... View the Post
