Thrifted Thursday– A New Sewing Chair
Liz and I have been sewing our little hearts out this week for Project Run & Play....you'll see tomorrow :)But, I did finish one project for my house last week. A new sewing chair. Project Run and Play– Feather Tutu Tutorial
This feather tutu was a fun project. I will warn you that there is some handstitching involved....but I found that it holds better and the results make it well worth the hour or so to get it done. (Learn from me. My original plan was to tack in on by machine every couple of inches....but it sagged in a lot of spots....so I ended up handstitching it on anyway.) Chrysanthemum Flower Sash Tutorial
Today is the tutorial for the chrysanthemum flowers that I made for the girls. They are easy, but do take a bit of time since you are handsewing them...so be prepared to put in a good movie...and handstitch away. You will need: 1-2 yards of man made fabric (I used a shimmery lining fabric for these ones) scissors a candle or lighter Step 1 Cut out your petal shapes. Baby Ruth is our 3rd child and the poor girl is destined to wear more than her fair share of hand-me-downs.
