Announcements· Giveaway

It’s a GIVEAWAY-A-DAY week!

Elizabeth and I were thinking that we have the not-quite-spring-yet blues and that we needed something fun to cheer us up. (Seriously, it snowed here yesterday...snow...and then there's the grey clouds, and the bundling up of the kids, and the obvious lack of warmth and lemonade...and anyways, you get the picture.)So here's our solution---a week full of giveaways! (It will make us happy to give goods to all of the nice people who make us happy by following and reading our blog regardless of the ... View the Post

Super Easy Baby Blanket

Oh how I wish I could take the credit for this project. But I can't. I found it HERE The tutorial is awesome and from start to finish I only spent about...um...less than 45 minutes making this blanket. It's the perfect nap time project! What a great idea. (I wish it was mine.) Thank you Make It and Love It woman of sewing awesomeness. (Now if only I could find some really great knit fabrics then I'd really be in business...or at least the baby would be.) ... View the Post

$5 Friday…A Total Craft Fail

Yea...it's pretty bad.... ....at least it cost me less that $5. Here's the story: I saw this cool lampshade on Anthropologie awhile back and I thought hey---that would make a great skirt. (Little did I know.) The next day I ran to the store and bought two cheap T-shirts (total cost $2.12) and got to work. If horizontal ruffle skirts could be made from T-shirts then why not vertical ruffle skirts? (It all seemed so logical.) I cut, I ruffled, I cut and ruffled some more and then I sewed and ... A Brand New Vintage Tunic

I bought this vintage fabric ages ago. Then I found this vintage pattern. And when I put them both together Gracie ended up with a brand new vintage tunic...which I love. Unfortunately she was not in the photo taking mood on the afternoon she first wore it...more like the look anywhere and everywhere except at the camera mood...fortunately the back of the tunic looks an awful lot like the front of the tunic so, you pretty much get the idea. And either way it reminds me of my childhood and ... View the Post

Spring Fever: Clam Diggers

Can I just tell you upfront about the happy dance I did when finding this truck?  Isn't is awesome? And how  when I asked the owner to take a picture in front of it, he said he normally shoos people away but since I asked he totally said yes.  Score for asking. I have clam diggers on the brain.  I had quite a few pairs when I was little and I loved the fact that both my mom and grandma called them clam diggers.  (Ok, at the time I probably told them they were weird....but now it is such an ...
