Mend Yourself: The Sharing Post

Hello. This is the sharing post for Week One. What does that mean? That means if you choose to participate in this challenge (any time during the month of July) you can come back to this post and share what you did just for yourself. Simply leave a comment and share. That's it. Easy. Although...sometimes choosing what that one thing you are going to do for yourself isn't as easy as just leaving a comment about it. I haven't even narrowed down what that one thing is ... View the Post

The Soul Mending Society: Week 1 Mend Yourself

Welcome to the first week of The Soul Mending Society's first annual meeting! This being our first year we don't have the agenda and details down to a science...but we hope you will join us as we work through starting to mend a few things in our sphere of influence....starting with ourselves. Mend Yourself: I've started this post approximately 8.6 million times. There is so much that I want to say...but the more I type the more I don't know if the message I want to share is coming ... The Soul Mending Society

In May of 2012 Elizabeth and I announced a project that would become an annual tradition on our blog...Skirting the Issue. Over the years we have included other items and projects...bereavement gowns, pillowcases, and quilts to donate to various causes. However, just over a year ago we started working on a plan and setting things in ... View the Post

A walking foot is a larger foot attachment that can be attached in place of the regular presser foot to aid in feeding fabric through the ... View the Post

Virtual Quilt Market–Bloom and Grow Fabrics

We are so excited to be taking part in Riley Blake Design's Virtual Quilt Market and to announce our next fabric collection called Bloom and Grow. Growing up both Elizabeth and liZ read and reread “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett. We were enamored with the tale of young Mary seeking “a bit of earth” to tend and in the process discovering not only a secret garden but also the joy and power that comes with the love of family and friends. “And the secret garden bloomed ... Chips and Salsa Quilt in Floral

Chips and Salsa Quilt in Floral: So I made this quilt months ago....months and months ago actually but didn't get around to binding it until yesterday! The pattern is our Chips and Salsa Quilt Pattern that I originally sewed up using all solids (except for the floral binding). And while I have loved the solid versions of it I also really like how the floral version turned out. It has a completely different feel to it! I used one of my favorite lines that Melissa from Polka ... View the Post
