Skirting the Issue 2019: Where to Donate

Like we said at the beginning of the month our approach to Skirting the Issue is a little different than in years past. As the time drew near I kept reflecting on different events that happened during the year. Infact, the idea to even make him came from my 14 year old son. I was saying how it's lame that we don't even have a tree skirt...just a blanket that we use to wrap around the tree stand. And then he said the blanket was better than a skirt...but it would be way cooler if we had the snake from The Nightmare ... View the Post

Skirting the Issue: Simple Whole Cloth Baby Quilt Tutorial

For Skirting the Issue this year, I am once again trying to find ways to incorporate my kiddos to help. So, before school got out I cleaned out my sewing room and cut lots of pieces of fabric to 1 1/4 yards to make these whole cloth baby quilts. I also got about 12 pieces of batting and backings ready and prepped so that when I get the "I'm bored" statement...I say "let's go make some baby blankets!" This Whole Simple Whole Cloth Baby Quilt tutorial is one that any beginning sew-er can do and ... View the Post
