This feather tutu was a fun project. I will warn you that there is some handstitching involved....but I found that it holds better and the results make it well worth the hour or so to get it done. (Learn from me. My original plan was to tack in on by machine every couple of inches....but it sagged in a lot of spots....so I ended up handstitching it on anyway.) Here's what you will need to make one yourself. * White muslin-or any other broadcloth or cotton that you want to use for the ... View the Post

Vintage Crafter’s Challenge. Liz.
Grace loves all things pink. And for awhile now I've been hoarding yards of hot pink fabric that my grandmother bought years and years ago to back a quilt with. A Vintage Dishtowel Apron Skirt. And a tutorial.

I was wondering what to do with them and realized how cute they would be on a skirt. I know that it's probably not a new skirt idea....but here is my result. This particular embroidered piece is actually a dresser scarf...so it has two embroidered ends. I took it to my local quilting store to match fabric and I love the way is turned ... View the Post
My Newest Acquisition
My grandma called me a few weeks ago and asked me if I would be interested in her old sewing machine. Interested? How soon can I pick it up? My grandpa bought this post WWII gem for my grandma soon after they were married. It makes me smile just to think about all the things my grandma (a quilting wizard) whipped up on this baby. I don't know what I love the most about this machine. The history of my grandma who learned to sew from her mother and the projects made on this machine or the ... View the Post
