Happy Thursday everyone! I don’t know what it is about this week, but I am ready for a weekend. I think it might be all the last-minute HUGE school projects that we are trying to get tucked away before the end of the year–but I will be happy when they are turned in and done. It’s been a LOT of homework time.
Also this week I have been working on some quilting projects. The hexagon quilt is finally back from Melissa’s sewing shop and is ready to bind, which I am dying to get done. The plan is to cut the binding today and get it sewn on so that I can hand-stitch this weekend.
And this chevron quilt is going off to a teacher that is having a baby boy. The HST (half-square triangles) are 8-inch blocks (6 rows by 6 rows square) so it felt like a fast sew. The backing is a fabric off the quilting wall at Joann’s and the front colors and Riley Blake Seafoam and white Kona Cotton.
And finally, this little pile of scraps was sitting on my sewing table from cutting a couple of days ago. It looked so lovely in the sunlight that I snapped a picture. It is going to be a quilt as well.
I am loving the colors together (although it doesn’t match anything in my house). Then again, does a quilt really have to match anything?
Any projects you are working on?
