Recently, I've been pining over the 50's. That era seems so innocent and the pace of life slower and ever so desirable. Products made during that generation were quality and built to last. And the house wives...Wow! They literally turned housekeeping into an art form. Their dedication to quality took the occupation of home maker to a whole different level. One that I'd like to rise to. (Oh, how I wish to be as awesome as they were. I really do.) Now before I go on I better state that if there ... View the Post
My crafting space…
I think Liz and I were on the same wave-length today--although I am sharing my crafting space. I am loving on a new baby right now, but I have gotten quite a few questions about where I craft. I am not lucky enough to have my own craft room (maybe someday?) and since I sew almost daily, I needed to find a place that could be permanent but out of the way--the kitchen table just wasn't cutting it anymore. So, for all of you in my same situation....here's what I did. I looked on ksl.com (a ... View the Post
$5 Friday…My Most Useful Crafting Device
This Friday I don't have something for you to make (sorry). What I have is the best crafting item I've invested in and yes, it cost less than $5.It's my scrap bin. Which elizabeth is it?
Ok......we've had quite a few comments from people complaining that they want to know which elizabeth is posting what. So, we've devised an ingenious plan (or something like that) to let you know who is who. If there is poor grammar and any references to soda or pajamas I'm the elizabeth who is posting and from now on I'll sign all my posts with -z.If the instructions are clear and the ideas are super cute it is the other elizabeth who is posting and she will be signing her posts with an -e.Now ... $5 Friday…Dish Towel Apron
Here's a photo of one of my current favorite aprons....Take a dish towel (I bought mine at the Dollar Store of course.) and lay it vertically. Attach extra long apron strings (mine were 2 and a half inches wide and the entire width of the fabric). Finish off with some flowers made from scraps(same kind I used on my broach a couple of posts back). *I made the strings extra long so I could criss-cross them in the back and bring them around front to tie. It isn't necessary but I like it like ... View the Post
