Recently I have been anything but a "serene woman". I've always prided myself in my ability to multi-task. At any one time I have at least three different things going on. The washer is going, the dryer is going, the dishwasher is going and I'm folding laundry while listening to Grace read...or...I'm sewing up a quilt row, talking on the phone, and holding Ruth on my lap...or...I'm cooking dinner while cutting out a pattern on the kitchen counter, and texting...or...I'm talking to Simon ... Madeline Dress PDF Pattern
This month we are the guest designers at The Sew What Club with our good friend Kelly of Sewing in No Man's Land. And this month one of the children's patterns is a dress that both liZ and I have been making for literally years. (For real, THIS dress, THIS dress and THIS dress were all made from this pattern we drafted years ago, and I could have put 5 more tags in...we LOVE to sew this dress.) ... View the Post

The Art of Homemaking: To be thankful for dirty dishes….

I was seriously having a mommy hissy fit over yet-again wiping crumbs off the ... View the Post

Over the weekend we got the opportunity to teach several classes at the Pinners Conference in Salt Lake City (and do a short segment on KUTV News' Morning Show about our classes...which is where the photos comes from...it's us with the Casey, the host of the show...at 6:30 in the morning). Two of the classes we were lucky enough to teach used our new maxi skirt pattern. We took measurements, cut out the pattern, and sewed up maxi skirts using the knit from our Four Corners Fabric line with ... View the Post
A Dress and a Story…..
Hannie had a part in our Children's Primary Program at church singing with a small choir yesterday. She was so excited about it and a couple of weeks ago she and I talked about making a new dress for the program. So, we picked out the fabric, picked out the pattern and laid it all out in a pile....waiting for some time this week to get her dress done. Fast forward to this week when there were unexpected doctor's appointments, colds, and just well....life. On top of that I spent most of ... View the Post
