A Sun Suit with a Not-So-Sunny Disposition
When I was small (and I mean as a child not before I was 8 months along) I used to wear terry cloth sun suits. And because I'm always having my kids try out things I loved as a child I made Grace some of the same sun suits. Grace has gotten quite a bit of use out of this one. She calls it her "sun-swim-suit". Unfortunately, the day it dawned on me to take pictures of her in it she was a giant grump. We had stopped by my parents after a long day of chores and errand running. And the only thing ... We’re Bringing Back the Skort!!!
Awhile back Elizabeth and I were talking and she mentioned that we should bring back the skort. The very next day I decided that not only did I want to make a skort but I wanted to make a jumper skort and cut out this outfit for Gracie. I used a 1970's baby boy jumper pattern and then added in the skort and ties. Because it was a boy's pattern I went with some retro boy's fabric and then added some vintage buttons. But because it was an outfit for my little girl I still wanted it to be ... View the Post
Melly and Me…Kind of
When I first started sewing (which wasn't that long ago) I fell in love with all the adorable Melly and Me patterns that I saw everywhere I went. I seriously think I bought one of every animal pattern they make. But then I was too scared to try them and put them all in a giant Ziploc bag and tucked them away in a drawer where they stayed until I just recently uncovered them. And being no longer afraid. I got to work. The first thing I made was this adorable cat bag. Grace loves cats and ... View the Post
