The time has come... ...for my maternity clothes... Don't ask me "how many weeks along" I am---I can never remember. All I know is that #1. I'm excited about the baby, #2. I'm due at the beginning of September, and #3. I need to start wearing real clothes again and not just pajama pants and my husbands sweatshirts. So the other day I pulled out the bins. And wanted to cry. Not because I'm all big and round (which I am) but because my clothes were all so ugly and old and dated and I ... View the Post
$5 Friday. A T-shirt Dress.
Every year I am on the hunt for cute white t-shirts with a cute detail of some sort. Well, last year I found some really cute ones at Target, and this year I found these cute white tees at Walmart for exactly $5. So I picked up a couple. I think the ruffle detail at the collar is darling, and makes them look more expensive. The rest of the fabric was from my stash. The bow is actually a pin to take it off the dress before washing. I dislike crazy-washed bows....hence the pin.I have had ... View the Post
A Spring Jumper.
Liz is usually the jumper girl....but this time it's my turn. I used THIS Simplicity pattern from the 99 cent sale last fall. I still need to rework the bodice, it turned out super huge under the armpits. See? And this time I lined the bodice.....so it will be an unpicking session to fix it. So, it's back on the sewing pile. But I did at least get a picture to post for today before the thunderstorm hit. That's a bit of good news.I love this fabric. It is polished cotton that was on SALE ... View the Post
Gracie’s Easter Outfit

But, Grace loves it.A lot.And that's all that matters.Oh---and as for Simon. He was just overjoyed that the suit we got him was too big. (So much for ... View the Post
It’s Done….and we can officially have Easter.
P.S. One lesson learned from this dress: When a vintage pattern tells you to use bias tape to face a neckline...and you think to yourself "just line the bodice--it will be a lot easier"--BELIEVE YOURSELF...it will save you lots of trouble. ... View the Post
An Easter Post
So, one Easter outfit has been ready for awhile....it's just Hannah's dress that is giving me grief (dress #2 actually). Hopefully I can finish it up this morning and show you tonight...(if the weather is good enough for some pictures. I have this idea for a photo shoot.....and I need good weather.) I made Isaac's pants using Oliver + S's Sailboat Pants Pattern (this pattern was a total splurge for me).....but I love, love, love the way they came out. I used a heavier-weight twill fabric ...
