How To Make a Knit Elastic Waistband Skirt (A Simple Tutorial)

Today I get to show you how my 5 year old and I make her favorite skirts.  They are simple, don't require a lot of fabric, only have one seam, and take less than 30 minutes to make.  For real. And like I said they are a staple in my 5 year old's wardrobe...partially because she loves skirts and partially because I let her pick the fabric and help sew the seam so she feels like she "designed" her own clothes.  It makes her happy and it makes me happy so it's a win win. Embrace the Awkward (An Art of Homemaking Post)

Almost 13 years ago I gave birth to what I believed was the most perfect...most beautiful...most amazing creature ever to grace this fair planet with it's presence....my son Simon.  One look into his eyes and I knew I could never love anything more than I did that boy. Quilt Market Prep and Other Happenings

Do you ever have those weeks where you feel like you are not getting a lot done? That's been me the last couple of weeks, and try as I might---I feel like by the end of the day I have accomplished nothing. I've been trying to sew for Quilt Market, keep up with the demands that the end of the school year brings, attend every baseball game (I think I've only made it to 3) and still keep my house all together (you should see the laundry room---oh boy, it's bad). And I've been feeling like a ... View the Post
