The Art of Homemaking: Make Two
I love this time of year when everyone is thinking about others...especially what they can give to others... But sometimes I think we make giving too hard. Or over think it too much. Or believe it has to be a grand gesture...or cost a lot...or be extravagant...or only be given to those in desperate need or to close friends or family... And it just doesn't have to be that way. It can be as easy as just making two. For instance: If you are making a batch of cookies...double it. Then take the ... View the Post
Why do you sew?
(some new fabric I bought this weekend to start a new quilt) Why do you sew? It's a question I get asked often in my personal and blog life...and one that I don't always know how to answer. I actually got asked that very thing last week and I stammered something out, but I am not sure it was the right answer. I often answer that it's my something that can't be undone everyday (which I wrote a post about HERE) but I think that there are lots of deeper reasons that I choose to sew. And ... View the Post
A Thank You Giveaway From Us To You
I'm not sure we say it often enough but we are so very thankful for all of you. We love your emails, comments and Facebook likes. So many of you ladies we have never "met" but we feel like you are a part of our inner circle of friends. We truly appreciate you spending a ... View the Post

I have sewn up curtains for three bedrooms, been making Halloween costumes, and working on other sewing projects for the house! I will share soon.....but most are going to be "another boring curtain picture" so be forewarned ;) But after school we have had some sewing lessons going on...and a ... View the Post
An Impractical Autumn Dress For Ruth
Ruth has grown out of most of the dresses that I've made for her so recently I cut out a bunch of new ones for her to wear through the fall and winter....but then I also made her this one.... It's perfectly impractical in every way for our autumn temperatures. (And it's totally Cindy Brady.) But it is so perfect for those chubby legs and arms that I couldn't resist! The dress is from a 1960's Simplicity pattern and made with Penny Rose fabrics. And even though I'm in love...I will start sewing ... View the Post
