Scrumptious Quilt

Do you ever feel like you are always a month behind?  I so naively thought that as my kids grew up that life would slow down and I could get caught-up on projects.  Um....apparently not.  I feel like life is busier than ever right now.  And with us being in the "middle ground" of a huge move (that we get to do all over in a couple of weeks) I am feeling a bit like a chicken with my head cut off.  And I fear that I am only at the beginnings of teenage "busyness."  (All you teenage moms are ... SNAP! (And a surprise…for one of you)

Often Elizabeth and I feel so fortunate for the opportunities that we are lucky enough to enjoy...and this is one of those times. For the past several years we've attended, volunteered, and taught at the SNAP conference...and it's become an annual event for us.  We love it.  There is so much positive energy and the attendees are always so much fun we can't help but leave reenergized and happy to have been a part of it.  So when we were asked about organizing a sewing room for SNAP we jumped at ... The Art of Homemaking: Why My Grandma is Getting a Shark in the Mail

Here are the facts: *In January Elizabeth and I attended ALT. *One of the sponsors at ALT was Shark vacuums...and I got obsessed with their Rocket vacuum and steamer.  (To the point that I was vacuuming the floors, rugs, couches, my pants, whatever all over the hotel instead of going to class with Elizabeth...and then was so loud with all my vacuuming they had to shut the doors to the classrooms to keep all my noise out.  True Story.) *Then one of the Shark ladies told me that I could enter a ... Personalized Polka Dotted Aprons: A How To

Grace has a wonderful kindergarten teacher who often wears aprons.  So awhile back when Grace wanted to give her a gift we decided to make her a "fancy" apron with her initial on it. We started with a premade, canvass apron. And some Tulip Beads in a bottle: Then I drew out her initial on some copy paper and placed it where we thought it looked best on the apron: And then we started to make dots! The dots were easy to make we just squeezed the paint straight out of the bottle and ... View the Post

Coral, Gray and Mustard Quilt

I have talked about this before but I really am trying to use up fabric that I currently have as well as break into the scrap pile more often than buying new fabric.  And it's been good for me (and the budget!).  Before I would buy fabric that I "loved" and then look at it 3-4 months later and think "hmmm...I am not sure why I bought that."  And then it ended up sitting in piles and piles.  But no more!  My fabric stash is down to 2 bins (that is a huge accomplishment!) and the eventual goal is ... It Wasn’t What I Planned to Post…

I had another post planned for today...but decided that it could wait. (And maybe some of you have already seen it anyways...I accidentally posted it one day last week during the middle of the day for like an hour.  Brilliant.) Anyway...I just wanted to say thank you. That's all.  Just thank you. Thank you for stopping by.  For reading our posts. For leaving comments.  For sending emails.  For everything. I was planning out my posts for the next few months and I realized how much I really ... View the Post
