Hello!Welcome to week one of Super Scary Sewing Stories!!! What is Super Scary Sewing Stories? It's a collection of "scary" sewing stories that we've gathered from seamstresses around blogland to share with you during this spooky season. Some of the stories are funny, some are crazy, and some are just plain frightening.  And many of these stories come with the pictures to prove it!  We've laughed, shuddered, and cringed as we've read through this collection and are excited to share these ... Because sometimes you just need some peace and quiet…

Over last weekend our house was pretty loud.  There were vacuums going, friends playing over, music blaring (dance parties are a new thing around here) and it was just plain chaos.  Which is fun and exciting and I generally like the sounds of everyone home....but it can get a little loud. And the three-year old....well, he is use to staying home with mom all day and hearing just us talk and the whirl of things like his mom's sewing machine.  So, when all the general chaos was going on and he ... Days To Celebrate: October Holidays

Yesterday I was writing all the crazy October holidays down on our family calendar and I realized---I haven't posted my usual monthly post about random holidays for like 2 months! (And as always, I swear I'm not making any of them up!) 1.  World Vegetarian Day, National Lace Day 2.  Name Your Car Day, International Day of Non-Violence, World Farm ... View the Post

Simple Spider Web Skirt Tutorial

I know, I know I'm posting yet another yarn embellished skirt. (But you know how I get...once I get going on something it's hard for me to stop...but I'll try to control myself and only post one more yarnified skirt after this one.)I made this skirt the other day for Grace to wear during the spooky season. It is made from a light weight corduroy and has a simple elastic waistband. To make this skirt I cut the fabric to the necessary measurements and then "hemmed" (or finished) the bottom ...
