Pair Number Three—Edna’s Glasses

So, this is my third pair of Firmoo glasses.I'm usually a contacts girl versus a glasses girl but Firmoo is doing their best to change that...and it's working...much to my surprise. When I ordered this pair of glasses I finally got the pair I've looked at since my very first trip over to Firmoo's website: They totally remind me of something Edna Mode would wear.(Who's Edna Mode?  One of my favorite Disney characters of all time----the fashion designer extraordinaire from "The Incredibles".)  ... A Drop Waisted Maxi Skirt

Holy Cannoli! That photo of me seems freaking ginormous. Luckily that is the only one up on our blog today. Easy Striped Maxi Skirt Tutorial

I have had this project on my to-do list for a year....and it's finally done.  Every time I started a new project I would spy that green and white knit fabric and the fact that it was begging to be a maxi skirt...... So, I finally did it.  I didn't want to let another summer go by and not have it done. I know there are a million maxi skirt tutorials out there....but just it case you need to add another one to the mix, here's how I made mine. 1.  Lay your knit fabric out on the fold (the ... The Art of Homemaking: Memorial Day and Traditions

"In their simplest sense, traditions are inventions people make in order to hold fast to home and one another.  Little things, often repeated, become woven into the commonplace of existence like bright threads, giving character, lending enchantment.  The children's accumulated memories of family traditions go with them through their lives." "The traditions holding families together are neither costly, complicated or copyrighted.  They are often so small and so simple that the world outside ... Quilt

Baby Coin Quilt

(Don't I have the best assistant ever?  And thankfully she has a thing for gold shoes as well...) I told you earlier that one of my goals this year was to do a bit more quilting.  It's been kind of a full-circle thing, because baby blankets and quilts were some of the first things I started sewing again after my first was born.  And it's been really enjoyable to have a quilting project going that I can pick up and leave in between garment sewing. This one was a baby quilt for a cousin's ... View the Post
