Stitched Episode 9: Fabric, Gingham, and Quilts…OH MY!!!

Over the weekend I took this photo to send to my sister: She recently had given me a haunted mansion necklace and I was showing her that I would be wearing it that night when I went to see the play "Wicked". I have seen Wicked before and really enjoy the storyline...and during the intermission, as we sat talking, my brother and I were pulling up cast photos and reading about those who were in the play. And that is when my brother captured a screen shot on his phone to point something ... View the Post

Shine Bright Heart Quilt Block

I was browsing some cute Valentine Decorations at a local store and came across this darling geometric heart pillow and I thought it was so cute. And then it dawned on me--it is the Shine Bright Paper Piecing block with one of the triangles at the top turned into a background fabric! So, off I went to re-create this paper piecing block I love so much into a Valentine Quilt Block as well. Who knew it would be so versatile? I am apparently not all that smart ;) I used the new Blossom ... View the Post

With All My Heart Quilt Pattern

Today we are happy to release a new PDF quilt pattern just in time for Valentine's Day. We are calling it the "With All My Heart" Quilt Pattern. I love this quilt. It finishes off at 50" x 50" which is a great size for kids...and also a great size for adults...who need what I call a "couch quilt" to curl up in on bad days...or good days and feel loved. I have no idea how many times I have sewn up this quilt....but it's more than once. It is truly one of those quick sews so I can ... View the Post

Vintage Home Sewing

Today I am so excited to share our friend Bev's brand new book called "Vintage Home Sewing". Excited not just because it is filled with darling projects punctuated with Bev's signature embroidery style... ...and not just because each project is sewn up with the lovely fabric line that she designed for Riley Blake....which we love and have used in several projects in the past like this version of our Make-It-Over-The-Weekend Quilt... ...but because it gives us a chance to talk ... Rag Heart Wreath

Rag wreaths are the perfect scrap busting projects so when I recently came across wire heart wreath forms I knew it was the answer for my overflowing pink and red scrap bins! All you need to make these cute wreaths are: A pile of scraps cut roughly 1.5 inches wide and 8 inches long. And maybe a great movie to watch because all you have left to do is tie! tie! tie! Grab one scrap at a time and tie a double knot around 2 rungs of your wire frame...making sure to place the knot in the ... View the Post
