Every year I make Grace a skirt for Valentines Day. (Remember last year I made her the All You Need is Love Skirt and then later I made her the Love Me Two Times Skirt.) Well, this year I wanted to combine the felt from the first skirt with the cotton skirt of the second one and I came up with this: The Love is in the Air Skirt. It is a simple elastic waistband skirt made of cotton fabric with felt pieces that I held in place with fabric glue and then embroidered around with a running ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday—A new skirt with a pirate belt?
Over the summer I found about 3 yards of this wierd, blue, stretchy, textured fabric (that smelled like moth balls) at a local thrift store. So I bought it for $2, brought it home, and washed it twice. Then last month I made Grace a back to school skirt with a small piece of it. The only problem with it is that for some reason Grace thinks she needs to wear it with a "pirate belt". $5 Friday…Maternity Skirts from Dollar Store T-Shirts
Warning!!!! What you are about to see isn't pretty. It is a photo of a very pregnant me. A photo which probably should have never been taken.... A Maternity Skirt
What does this maternity skirt have to do with the 4th of July? Absolutely nothing. I've been feeling a little guilty over the past few days as I've seen many of the fun 4th projects around blogland---patriotic garlands, BBQ decorations, and all those red, white, and blue accessories---and what have I made? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. My pregnancy has contributed to me just being obsessed with my kids and not wanting to do anything---including making holiday projects---unless it involves my ... $5 Friday…A Total Craft Fail
Yea...it's pretty bad.... ....at least it cost me less that $5. Here's the story: I saw this cool lampshade on Anthropologie awhile back and I thought hey---that would make a great skirt. (Little did I know.) The next day I ran to the store and bought two cheap T-shirts (total cost $2.12) and got to work. If horizontal ruffle skirts could be made from T-shirts then why not vertical ruffle skirts? (It all seemed so logical.) I cut, I ruffled, I cut and ruffled some more and then I sewed and ...
