Here are the facts: *In January Elizabeth and I attended ALT. *One of the sponsors at ALT was Shark vacuums...and I got obsessed with their Rocket vacuum and steamer. (To the point that I was vacuuming the floors, rugs, couches, my pants, whatever all over the hotel instead of going to class with Elizabeth...and then was so loud with all my vacuuming they had to shut the doors to the classrooms to keep all my noise out. True Story.) *Then one of the Shark ladies told me that I could enter a ... View the Post
An Easy Valentine Skirt
I have a girlie that is out-talling all her clothes---her jeans, her dresses and her skirts have all become wayyyy too short. So, we are trying to make the winter ones last and adding some Springy things into her wardrobe for the rest of the school year. I keep telling her that her jeans are making darling capris, but I am not so sure she is buying it so it's a good thing she is still wearing boots to cover up the fact that they are shorty-mc-shortens. And just yesterday I was staring at this ... View the Post
Some People Go To ALT to Network…Some People Go To ALT to Sew Men’s Stretchy Pants…We Are of the Pants Persuasion
Let me explain.... No wait. It's too weird...and it doesn't make any sense. Let's just do this: I am going to tell you a story. A true story. Now, with ... View the Post

Holiday Looks for My Girls for Less than $10
Hello! Today we are over at Sewing in No Mans Land taking part in Kelly's 12 Skirts of Christmas Series... ...where we are sharing a tutorial for some skirts that I made my girls to wear on Christmas Day. I'm pretty excited about them...and weirdly enough I bought everything to put their entire outfits together at Wal-Mart. The shirts are Garanimals (I actually love Garanimals shirts for the girls...they wash and wear wonderfully) and each of them cost $4.88. And then the fabric for the ... View the Post
Spring Lookbook: Orange Sherbet
The last outfit of the week was also "client-inspired." Every year I have made Hannie a tulle skirt (here and here are past years) and this year she asked for another "ballerina skirt." So, impractical as it is, I went with it. (Although I will add that both past years skirts have washed up perfectly and were worn a lot!) I don't dry the tulle skirts, I just hang them up and they are ready to go. The tulle is actually bridal chiffon tulle, which I love because it is extremely soft (much ... View the Post
