Grace loves all things pink. And for awhile now I've been hoarding yards of hot pink fabric that my grandmother bought years and years ago to back a quilt with. Finally last week I decided that it was time to start using it. And came up with this: Here's my supply list: *1 Simplicity Pattern (#7903) from 1977 *1 Fat Quarter of crazy turquoise and pink floral (from a cut of fabric Elizabeth and I found out thrifting) *1 long piece of ivory colored vintage lace (also picked up at a local ... Something a Little Scary for $5 Friday the 13th
Are you ready for this??? It's big. It's scary. And it cost less $5... IT'S LIZ IN HER GIANT MATERNITY PAJAMA PANTS! AAAAAAAUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I told you it was big and scary. Easter Dress: Take 1
Over the weekend I finished up what I thought would be Gracie's Easter dress. This is it: I like it. It's simple and classic and an ENTIRE SIZE TOO BIG!!!! MORE vintage patterns.....and I think I am in love. (I know I say that about every pattern, but take a look at these beauties and I think you will agree.) I bought them all in a lot of 30 patterns off of ebay and even with shipping they turned out to be around 40 cents each. SCORE. I should wait until $5 Friday, but I couldn't stand it and I had to share. By the way, I tried to only pick a couple favs...but even that wasn't possible. I have already cut out an Easter dress and have a ... View the Post
A Word about Patterns and a preview.

I know that lots of people make their own, but to tell the truth, I have not had much luck with tracing existing clothing.....I find that along the way I am making weird and crazy adjustments that I could have avoided in the first place. So, I use mostly paper patterns....and for the most part...I hardly make any adjustments. They are tested and usually very well-done and I just love them. Don't get me wrong, I still pull a bodice from here and a skirt from here and a ... View the Post
