A Vintage Telephone Stand
I was out yard sale-ing with my mom a couple of summers ago when we came across this vintage telephone stand....and it was one of those "I hope the price isn't too high....because I have the perfect place for it." And lo and behold the price was $8.00----SCORE!!!!! But the sad part was that the poor vintage phone stand then sat in my garage for 2 years....pathetic, I know. Especially because every time I would walk by it, I would think, "I've got to get that done, it is perfect for this ... View the Post
Strange Things Are Afoot At the Circle K…And It’s Going to Keep Coming…
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away (a year and a half ago in Elizabeth's van on the way home from a pattern drafting course) we has this idea to make T-shirts for ourselves and our kids. And we brainstormed a list of like 150 different shirts that we wanted to make. But we didn't have the tools necessary and time went by. And the idea was put on the shelf. Until recently a few weeks ago when the UPS man delivered these to our doorsteps: Brand new Cricut mini's!!! (I have wanted one of ... View the Post

Skirting the Issue: A Blanket Tutorial
Years ago, I sat in a hospital room with Hannie who was 18 months old at the time. She had gotten a horrible stomach virus and wasn't keeping anything down for days. I remember when I took her into the doctor they sent us straight to the hospital. It was a scary 24 hours....and I vividly remember she didn't even flinch when they stuck the IV needle in her. That was the moment I knew she was pretty sick. After a couple of hours on IV's she began to stabilize and I could see the coloring ... View the Post
Indian Summer Quilt Along!
One of the questions that I have been getting lately is where would I begin if I wanted to make a quilt? Well, next week we are going to spend Monday, Wednesday and Friday showing you how to make a quilt top. It should be a fun week....and if you can't sew along, it will still be a good reference for when you do feel like quilting. I pinky promise the pattern is easy (me and my old-school graph paper made it...you bet it's easy). And you will essentially be learning how to make a simple ... View the Post
