Awhile ago I was cleaning out some old clothing bins of mine (a never ending project it seems) when I ran across one that included a bunch of old skirts that I wore the first year or two I taught school. They were long, frumpy, and totally from the turn of the century...back when I was partying like it was 1999. They ALL looked like this: Anyone else remember these beauties or am I just waaaay older than all of you are? (Wait, don't answer that.) I'll just pretend you remember these ... View the Post
A Handmade Christmas: Isaac’s Christmas Outfit
I am busy getting some Christmas outfits made for the kids. First up is Isaac's. Well, I still have his button-front shirt to make....but I am considering it almost done. The cardigan is the Greenpoint Cardigan pattern from Hey June, which I am in love with on him. I think this is my third or fourth Greenpoint Cardi and I am not stopping anytime soon. However, my old glasses suffered a tragic accident in the spring when Grace was trying them on Ruth and they ... View the Post
Project Runway…Dmitry…who knew?
So another season of Project Runway just ended. And I was a little surprised at the winner... Dmitry(source) Hummm...who knew? Not me. Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy Dmitry (especially when Elena was driving him CRAZY) and I admire the heck out of his tailoring skills but I just didn't peg him for the winner of the season.(Although he should have gotten a prize for putting up with all of Elena's super drama.) I've mentioned before I was a solid Sonjia fan (Remember I even made a scarf to look ... View the Post
Lace Back T-shirt Tutorial
This was an unintended project. Yesterday after preschool I was wiped out and so were the kids. Simon was still at school and Grace and Ruth both fell asleep which means I suddenly found myself with some time alone. And what did I do with that time to myself? Catch up on laundry? Clean out my closet? Take a nap? No way. I made Grace the lace back t-shirt that I have been wanting to make her for weeks. (I love quiet sewing time.) Here's what I did: #1. I gathered my supplies. You ... View the Post
