The Art of Homemaking: Because Tomorrow is Another Day

photo sourceThe week before last when I wrote this Art of Homemaking post or even the week before that when I posted about the "touch it once" motto I could have titled either of those posts, "Because Tomorrow is Another Day." You see up until recently that is how how I've dealt with things I haven't wanted to do (things like folding the giant laundry pile, cleaning out the pantry, and sorting the toys in the toy bins).  I always think, well...it doesn't have to be done right now and after all ... $5 Friday: The Daddy Daughter Dress OR The Stolen Tie Tutorial

This is a dress that has been on my mind for a long time now and yesterday I decided to just sit down and put it together.  I really like the idea of mixing different fabrics, textures, and patterns in a simple design.  And awhile ago I was looking at one of my husbands ties and thinking how cool that tie material would be on a dress. Later I was looking at the shape of the tie and decided that shape would even be cool on a dress and so the idea for the "Daddy Daughter Dress" was born and ... View the Post

Thrifted Thursday–A Pink Dress

(their picture from the listing, not mine)I have been in search of a new dress.....forever.  I really think I have been looking for over a year. I always try on tons, but something just always isn't right.  (Does anyone else have problems finding dresses or is it just me?)I really was trying to remember when the last time I bought a new dress was, and it was for my brother-in-law's wedding which was 2 + years ago (they have the cutest baby boy now).Well, one sleepless, sick-child night last ... Celebrations

Two Easy Valentines.

I have two easy and last minute valentines if you still need some in time for Thursday.  I am usually a last minute girl myself, but this year I had a seven-year-old who was UBER-excited to make her valentines so we did ours this last weekend. For our girl Valentine, we found these cute felt hearts at Hobby Lobby and used glue dots to put them on jumbo paperclips to make cute felt bookmarks for her classmates.  It was an easy project and Hannie could do the whole thing herself--which she was ... Broken Heart Letter Matching Game

This is one of the games that Gracie will be playing this week at preschool. It's simple, just put the broken hearts back together again matching the lower and upper case letters. And it's easy to make just print out the templates that I made onto red or pink paper. (You can download them from  HERE, HERE, and HERE---They are in 3 different places because there are 3 different sheets)  Then cut them out.  (Cut INSIDE the line of the heart so you won't see the template line once your heart is ...
