Projects

A Thanksgiving Project.

I have seen these "Give Thanks" frames all over bloggyland, so I don't know who to give credit to, but this one is my cheapy version. I bought a poster frame at Walmart for $9.97 (there are two sizes--mine is the bigger size) and then used spray adhesive to attach white burlap to the back cardboard of the frame. My neighbor does vinyl (thanks Corina) so I had her do the "give thanks"--look carefully at the top--in Chopin Script (a favorite and free font) backwards so it's on the back of the ... Facet No.4: A Place for Everything—Everything in it’s Place. Take Two

Because I failed miserably in my previous attempt to live according to the rules of the 4th facet in becoming an ideal homemaker I am trying it again. I'm taking it slowly. And I'm working it out. This week I've been working on the 1st of 8 points in Ms. Hoole's "A Place For Everything" homemaking instructions which is: "LET EACH ROOM FULFILL IT'S FUNCTION". It is a point that is simple and self explanatory but for me has been a lot of work. You see, recently places in my home have ... View the Post

$5 Friday

$5 Friday…Autumn Halo’s

This project was a happy accident discovered by my preschool class. Here's how it happened:I bought paper plates and several packages of "silk" fall leaves from the Dollar Store.I then cut out the center of the paper plates so we could make fall wreaths.Art time began in class...the plate rims were covered in glue and the leaves were flying...then at the finish several of the students hung their wreaths on their heads like a hat. It started a revolution and our fall wreaths suddenly became ... View the Post

The Art of Homemaking

Heaven Help Me…I’ve Failed Again.

For the last two weeks my assignment was to work on Chapter 4 from "The Art of Homemaking" which is entitled "A Place for Everything---Everything in it's Place". However, if you entered my home you would have thought the chapter was "Too Much of Everything---Nothing in it's Place".Literally.If you popped over to my house this afternoon you would find, among other things that aren't in their place, a chair from the van in my front room, the Christmas tree standing in front of a Halloween garland ... Thoughts

Thanks for the Great Weekend!

I just wanted to post a quick thank you for everyone who helped us have such a successful weekend. Oh Sweet Sadie was rad (as always) and the Family Christmas Gift show threw me right into the Christmas spirit. (Can you hear Bing Crosby singing Silent Night in the background?)As is usual, I forgot my lousy camera and so have no pictorial evidence of our shows. Nevertheless, we went, we saw, we shopped, we sold, and now we are tired. Very tired. But before I get to the task of sorting through ... View the Post
