Modern Farmhouse Quilt Pattern

We are super excited today to release a new quilt pattern! This pattern goes along with our fabric line Modern Farmhouse through Riley Blake Designs and is a super fast and fun one to sew up. I love the look of it....it just reminds me of a nod to yesterday's quilts with the added bonus of a modern color palette that I love. So much my style! The Modern Farmhouse Quilt Pattern is made for beginners to advanced quilters and is made to be used and loved over and over again. A perfect ... View the Post

History of the Zipper

History of the Zipper: This brief over look of the history of the zipper is taken from our Podcast "Stitched" (our podcast about all things sewing and quilting). At the end of every episode we have a segment called "I've got a notion" where we talk about the history of some of our favorite sewing and quilting notions. So without further ado...let's talk about zippers! The history of the zipper is a long story that involves a series of inventors.  It’s origins begin back in the ... View the Post

Mickey Beignet Recipe to make at home!

One of our favorite Disney traditions as a family is to wait until it gets dark and a bit cooler in the park, and then head over to New Orleans square to get a large bag of Mickey Beignets to eat as a family. I don't know why but I love waiting for that ride at night--it has such a fun Disney ambiance. And ... View the Post

Baby Gingham Quilt in Blue

This morning I finally bound a baby gingham quilt in blue that I have had in my pile for ages. The pattern is our Gingham Quilt Pattern that walks you through how to make both a baby quilt and a Queen size quilt using pre-cut 5 and 10 inch squares. In the past we've sewn up several pink versions as well as grey versions...but never a blue one until today. I really like how it turned out. Especially the binding...I usually bind with stripes or polka dots but today I went ... View the Post

Rail Fence Baby Quilt

While we are all quarantined at home I have been cleaning out my sewing loft and have found quite a few quilts that just needed binding put on them. So silly that I have let them sit there that long with only needing bindings. This rail fence baby quilt was one of them....and the binding was even on one side! It just needed the other side sewn up. If you need directions on making a rail fence quilt block head HERE. This particular quilt is 2.5" strips by 8.5" and there are 4 strips in ... View the Post
