Thanks for the Great Weekend!

Thank you to everyone who came up to Midway for the Country Fair. We had a great time and met a lot of fun people. I can't wait until we are back up there for Swiss Days in September! My brain is overflowing with ideas for new items and decorations.*PS---I am THE WORST at taking pictures. The photos of our booth are both crooked and blurry. This is the only in focus shot I had to post. It is from the peg person corner as I was in the process of setting it up Thursday morning. ... View the Post

$5 Friday…Dish Towels

These are some dish towels I recently made for a bridal shower.I bought the dish towels at the local dollar store for a dollar each and then used scraps from my bin to make the flowers. (Which brings the total for this project to---$5 plus tax.)Just grab a dish towel, cut some fabric in the shape you want and stitch it on. That's all. I don't heat and bond it, stitch around the edges, iron anything, or even use pins. I just plop down the shapes and and start sewing. (I leave about 1/4 inch seam ... View the Post

Getting Ready for their Weekend Debut

I took this photo at about 3 a.m. this morning. It's what I had left of an army of new peg people I was working on for a craft fair this weekend. The peg people are done and I'm happy with them. They are the Disney princesses---I made Aurora, Belle, Tiana, Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel. My little girl has been playing with hers all morning. I love them. They're so funny. If you want to see the finished product come see us at the Midway County Fair this weekend. (It's at the park in Midway, ... View the Post

$5 Friday…Farmer’s Market Bag

Ok, so the photo looks like it came from a 1980's advertisment but it didn't. Liz took this picture of me with my bag just a few weeks ago. Maybe I just still belong in the 80's. Anyways....My $5 Friday project is a Farmer's Market Bag. I made it out of a rug from the Dollar Store, $2.13 worth of handle cord from Wal-Mart, and scrap fabric from my bin.First I made some flowers and cut out the shapes that I wanted on the bag. Then I folded the rug in half and pinned the shapes and flowers on the ... View the Post

A $5 dollar Thursday…..

I am leaving town for a month and since I will be busy packing tomorrow, I am doing my $5 project on Thursday. By the way, Liz and I were talking that we are just $5 project girls. I can't think of anything that I do that really costs a lot more. Maybe I am just a cheapskate when it comes to crafting....ok, I will admit that fabric has a bit higher limit. But not much.So here goes....a $5 project and fabric. My kind of heaven.I made these towels as presents for some girls that were going off to ... View the Post
