I needed some easy teacher's gifts for the Holidays this year...and have kind of made it a tradition to do a handmade gift and then a gift card for school supplies. So when the Jo-Ann's #MakeItGiveIt campaign came along, I knew it would be the perfect match. I wandered through the store and found some amazing cream premium wool felt and knew it would make the perfect pillows for my kids' teachers. And since pillows are easy....it was a perfect afternoon project! Here is what you will need if ... View the Post

The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Inspired Dress
So, yes I realize it is December 3rd and that I am writing about Grace's Halloween costume. I am doing it for two reasons. #1. I never shared it at Halloween time and #2. Then he used a saw to cut the middle notch. (Being careful not to cut through the domino.) And ... View the Post
Christmas Postcards Tutorial
A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to send something "handmade" to a group of our online friends for Christmas....but I couldn't think of what I could possibly hand make that would be personal. Then it dawned on me...some handmade postcards! I could cut them out, sprinkle them with some sewing, and hand write a personal message on them. It was perfect! (Sure it's not a pieced quilt but still...) So the other night I got to work and in less than 30 minutes they were all made and ... View the Post
The 12 Days of Christmas—Kid Holiday Style.
Happy December everyone! Has it come so fast for everyone else? I am feeling not-very-ready-this year......ahhhh (that is a scream, not a sigh of relief). But I determined to have a simple holiday full of family memories and not full of "things." I hope I can do it..... But I do have one thing done, thanks to Laura and Suz's amazing series...a Christmas skirt that can also be worn all year round. My favorite kind. You can read more details here and a little about how we spend ... View the Post
