Here is the tutorial for the boys' pajamas that we used in Project Run and Play last week. I made another pair for this little cutie and took some pictures this time. Can I pause for a minute to tell you how much I love this kid? And how his adoption was such a miracle. Truly. I really need to tell you all the stories, but I have just been keeping them in my heart for a year now. They need to be shared, but I feel so protective of his birthmomma, who loves that little boy dearly and made ... View the Post
Make Your Own Crayons
This was a fun project that I saw for the first time over here and since I love activities like this we just had to try it out. It was easy, fun, and even educational. First I bought a rubber ice tray at the dollar store that we filled with the naked, broken crayons from the crayon bin. Next we took the ice tray and put it in our experiment pan (I know the pan looks rough but it gets a lot of serious non-cooking use). Then we put the pan out on the dashboard of the mini van, shut the door, ... View the Post
A Sewing Lesson
A couple of weeks ago, on a Saturday, everyone had a project to do. One of us had legos to build, one of us had some sewing to do, one of us had toys to eat and chuck out of a toybox, one of us had a lawn to mow.....and one of us had absolutely nothing to do. I ran the sewing machine pedal...but she did the rest, including the rotary cutter (which made ... View the Post

But then out came a blow up bed in a field...and the newspapers...and the laughing. And our skeptical boys did what they do best---played. I planned on writing some ... View the Post

This week is boys' week!!!! And from the beginning we knew what we wanted to do.....make it retro boys' week! And so we give you...our "North by Northwest" adventure pajamas. The inspiration for Simon's jammies was a 1950's baseball uniform, very "Sandlot--esque" which is considered a classic film in all of the Evans' households. And Aaron got a retro bathrobe with pajama bottoms complete with bias tape finishes. So, now it's your turn, go to Project Run and Play and VOTE for your ... View the Post
