Little Girl’s Birdcage Tutorial

Last week I made some of these for our girls. And I love them. Practical? Not really. But I say who cares! I only have my little girls for a short while and I plan on loving every minute, whether it's practical or not. So if your like me and your heart skips a beat when you see your daughter all dressed up then follow these instructions to make a perfectly impractical headpiece just like this one. Here's what you'll need: *A small kitchen trivet. (I bought mine at the dollar ... View the Post

Raingutter Shelves

Recently I've seen DIY book shelves all over blogland so I figured what the heck...I'll throw mine into the mix. These are the book shelves that are in the preschool room here at my house. They aren't a novel idea (no pun intended) poor school teachers have been using this trick for years.......book shelves made from rain gutters....they are light weight, easy to transport, easy to hang, and perfect for displaying books. All you need is rain gutter cut in the desired lengths (your local Home ... View the Post

Audrey Quotes

A few Audrey quotes for your Saturday....“It's that wonderful old-fashioned idea that others come first and you come second. This was the whole ethic by which I was brought up. Others matter more than you do, so 'don't fuss, dear; get on with it'.” ― Audrey Hepburn   “You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.” ― Audrey Hepburn “Paris is always a good idea.” ― Audrey HepburnI love the last one......I do think Paris is always a good ... Project Run and Play–“Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

This week the challenge was to upcycle and thrift.  Which you all know how much we love!  Although finding enough fabric for both outfits proved to be a challenge. The inspiration for our outfits came from a Vintage Idol-- Miss Audrey.  Who was (and still is) a fashion icon in her own right. So, we made our girls into modern Audreys....and boy did we have fun during this photo shoot.  (Sorry there really is a picture explosion coming....)We decided to do an urban photo shoot this time and boy was ... Beet Dyed Onesies

That's right. I said "beet dyed onesies". Weird? Probably. But I didn't start coloring my baby's undershirts with food all at once. There was a method to my madness and it all started here when I made these: Tea dyed onesies. And I love them. And I started to think if I could dye them with tea maybe I could dye them with other staining foods....like beets. Which coincidentally are delicious to eat when chilled and pickled. And even better when mixed with spinach and peas and blue cheese and ... View the Post
