Hi.What's going on? Last week we made an unexpected change over here and think we should probably put up a quick post with an explanation. So here it is:Elizabeth and I have been in the process of doing a little housekeeping and redecorating over here at Simple Simon and Company. We are reorganizing the layout, fixing up the tutorial page, linking to Facebook, getting a new header, adding some buttons, etc. and last week our designer surprised us by putting up the new look live. ... Up Coming Events
Hey.We have a few things coming up that we've been needing to talk about but haven't. So we thought today would be a good day to just announce everything and do it all at once. Let's go in order starting with what's coming up first.SNAP Last year Elizabeth and I were able to attend the SNAP conference and had a great time meeting so many fun ladies in person. So this year when we had the opportunity teach a class there we jumped at the chance. Our class will be on the afternoon of the 20th ... View the Post
Draft your own Drawstring Pants Tutorial.
We showed these pants earlier this summer at Kojo's Color My Summer but we are now bringing the tutorial home. So, here it is again....just in time for back to school! Hi Kojo-ers! We are Elizabeth and Liz from Simple Simon and Co, two girls who married brothers and ended up with the exact same name. Super confusing? Um...yeah. Over at Simple Simon and Co we blog about our adventures into the art of homemaking, our love of vintage and thrifting, as well as our crazy sewing ... View the Post

*We shared this tutorial last month on Riley Blake's blog and are sharing it with all of you today....you should go check out all the design team's projects---there is such talent there!*Also, please ignore the fact that there is no step #6....I am just crazy (or tired) sometimes ;)One reason that Liz and I started our blog was to show everyone that if we could sew, then basically anyone could. We sometimes feel like we are living out Gusteau's line from the movie Ratatouille, when he said, ... View the Post
Some Things I Had to Wait Until After Christmas to Share Plus Two Excellent Things
Ok, so there were a few things that I needed to wait until after Christmas to share. Like this guy: He's one of a series that I made for my little brother who is a big Simpson's fan. (Don't worry I won't make you suffer through a photo montage of all the paintings that I made.) I just free handed some of my favorite supporting characters onto canvases of various sizes and shapes. Next I painted the drawings in with acrylic paint and drew over the top of them with a black colored pencil. ... View the Post
An Apron for Sewing or A Sewing Apron
Last month I had the opportunity to guest post over at Skip To My Lou's fun Homemade Holiday Event and this was the project that I shared. I am reposting it today for 2 reasons which are: #1---I really like it. (I made it for myself and actually use it.) Plus I really think that if you made this gift for someone who likes to sew she would really like it as well....AND #2---My house is a war zone. Remember when I posted about my husband jumping on the crafty bandwagon? Well he's not just on ... View the Post
