In the Leafy Treetops Skirt

I am already thinking back to school.  Ha!!!  I think because I made most of Hannie's summer clothes in April and May, that I thought I had better get a jump on some Fall things before it gets too late and school has already started. Here is a little skirt I made from some leftover projects.  Last month for a church activity we did family trees on fabric.  (I wish I had thought to take some pictures--everyone's turned out really cute.  Hi girls!!!!)  These were the basic idea, but we used ... The Art of Homemaking—A Fastly Fleeting Summer Vacation

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each."---Henry David ThoreauToday I realized that our summer vacation was half way over. And I wanted to cry. (I doubt I'll ever really grow up.)Have they breathed the air? Tasted the drink? Thrifted Thursday– A Thrift Store Ruffle Skirt

{It must be the week of sewing skirts for ourselves...first Liz's....and today mine.  And we never sew for ourselves!  Liz's was darling, but mine....ummmm....I think I will stick to kiddie things.} I made this skirt out of a Pottery Barn Crib skirt that was NEW in its packaging at the thrift store for $4.....SCORE!  You saw on Tuesday what I did with the inside white part  (it was over a yard of fabric inside....)  And then I decided to make a skirt for me out of the bottom ruffles. So ... View the Post

A Maternity Skirt

What does this maternity skirt have to do with the 4th of July? Absolutely nothing. I've been feeling a little guilty over the past few days as I've seen many of the fun 4th projects around blogland---patriotic garlands, BBQ decorations, and all those red, white, and blue accessories---and what have I made? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. My pregnancy has contributed to me just being obsessed with my kids and not wanting to do anything---including making holiday projects---unless it involves my ...
