Today is the first Monday of the month so it should be our Quilt Block of the Month Day....but....I hijacked the blog tonight and am putting in the holidays for the month and then tomorrow we will do the quilt block of the month. (And the quilt block of the month is a PERFECT one if you are just beginning to quilt.) Soooo....since I stole the day let's get to it! Here are the days to celebrate this month: ... View the Post

Think Big Pillow
When liZ and I have met up with Amy Ellis the last two times it has been on an airplane...and it really is a wonder that she still wants to hang out with me. For real. I am THE most nervous Nelly flier that you will ever meet. And both Amy and liZ can attest to it. I make liZ (and everyone around me) nervous on airplanes....it's a real problem. The minute turbulence sets in I am white-knuckled with my hands to the arm rests and I have to keep telling myself, "it's just bumps on the road, ... View the Post
2015 Word of the Year: Araneae
Last month we were asked by the SNAP CONFERENCE to share our word for 2015 over on their site. The word I chose was "Araneae". I know....it's not even a verb...but after a lot of thinking I realized it was the only word that I could pick for this year...and if you are wondering why that is you can read on. ... View the Post
Black and White Modern Baby Quilt

I also love the black and white modern baby quilt because it is gender neutral and makes a darling play mat or a toddler bed quilt as well. And if you have never made a plus quilt---they are simple and fast and you can have ... View the Post

Let's start with Our Quilt Block of the Month: The first Monday of each month we are sharing a tutorial showing how to make various quilt blocks and then through out the month we will sprinkle in posts where we have used that kind of block both in quilting and sewing projects. In January we ... View the Post
A Free Sawtooth Sunburst Quilt Top Pattern
Because this month we were talking about half square triangles I really wanted to put together a quilt top that featured how fun half square triangles can be. Soooo....I made this lap quilt using nothing but plain square blocks and a few half square triangles. And I really like how it turned out! I'm calling it a "Sawtooth Sunburst" quilt top. (Even thought technically it's not a sunburst design it reminds me of one so....) It was really easy to make and it you'd like to make one ... View the Post
